The land depression is continuing to pass between Yenangyaung and Kyaukpadaung Townships in Magway Region and is expected to weaken into a strong low-pressure area within the next 12 hours, according to the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH).
According to observations made at 3:30 p.m. Myanmar Standard Time on September 29, the land depression that had passed near the west of Yedashe in Myanmar moved north-northwest and is continuing to cross the area between Yenangyaung and Kyaukpadaung.
The land depression is centered about 10 miles northeast of Yenangyaung, approximately 20 miles south-southwest of Kyaukpadaung and about 25 miles south-southeast of Chauk Township in Magway Region.
As the land depression is currently passing between Yenangyaung and Kyaukpadaung, it has been classified at the Brown Stage, according to the DMH.
The land depression is located at 20.6 degrees north latitude and 95.0 degrees east longitude, with a central pressure of 1,004 hectopascals and maximum winds of about 30 miles per hour.
The land depression is expected to continue moving north-northwest and may pass through Magway Region, Mandalay Region, lower Sagaing Region and Chin State during the next 12 hours. It is forecast to weaken into a strong low-pressure area tonight.
Due to the influence of the land depression, rain accompanied by thunderstorms is expected in scattered to widespread areas of Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon Region, Mandalay Region, Bago Region, Magway Region, Sagaing Region, Ayeyawady Region, Tanintharyi Region, Kachin State, Kayah State, Kayin State, Chin State, Mon State, Rakhine State and Shan State from the evening of September 29 through October 1. Heavy rainfall is also likely in some areas and isolated locations.
