KBZ Pay has announced that due to the policy change, KBZ Pay accounts will no longer be able to be used with Thai phone numbers, but only with local phone numbers.
“According to the current policy change, KBZ Pay accounts will only be able to be used with local phone numbers,” KBZ Pay responded to some of the questions on its social media page.
KBZ Pay is currently informing users that money transfer services will be temporarily suspended for those who have opened KBZ Pay accounts with Thai phone numbers.
KBZ Pay has announced that K Pay accounts opened with Thai phone numbers need to be changed to Myanmar phone numbers. To change the phone number, the users will need to upgrade to the new K Pay version 5.8.1, which will be released soon, and change the phone number according to the information in the application.
There has been strong criticism from Myanmar migrant workers in Thailand about this change, and there is also growing criticism of fraudulent withdrawals from KBZ Pay accounts in the country.
KBZ Pay was launched in 2018 and aims to reach 30 million users within ten years, KBZ Pay announced.
