The second meeting of Joint Constitutional Amendment Committee was held at the meeting hall of Union Parliament on February 25.

The meeting agreed on suggestions about constitutional amendments from various chapters to be proposed by each group and political parties formed under the Joint Constitutional Amendment Committee.

The groups and political parties were asked to send the points in chapter one that should be amended and those that shouldn’t to the meeting to be held on March 4.

“The points prescribed in chapter one that should be amended or those that shouldn’t will be discussed at the parliament on March 4. The groups and political parties can send suggestions on constitutional amendments to the parliament. There may be those wishing to amend the constitution and those not wishing to do. The constitutional suggestions will start discussions from March 5. We will discuss the points chapter by chapter. The chapter one will start on March 4,” said MP Aung Kyi Nyunt representing No 4 Constituency of Magway Region.

The second meeting of Joint Constitutional Amendment Committee was attended by most representatives including Tatmadaw and the USDP.
