Internet access restored in four townships in Rakhine State

As of September 1, the internet access in four townships in Rakhine State and one in Chin State has been restored, according to locals. 

Since June 21, the government has suspended the internet access in Maungdaw, Buthidaung, Yathaedaung, Ponnagyun, Kyauktaw, MraukU, Minbya and Myaebon Townships in Rakhine State and Paletwa Township in Chin State.

Now, Maungdaw, Buthidaung, Myaebon and Yathaedaung  and Paletwa Townships have got internet access. 

Ko Myat Kyaw, a local from Buthidaung Township said: “I don’t know what is happening in the globe due to the suspension of internet access. I surf the internet for the interest of my business. I can search what I want on the internet. I am happy as the internet access is restored.”
