Individual electricity consumption rate was 263 kWh (kilowatt hour) in 2015-16 FY and now it has reached up to 432 kWh, according to the Ministry of Electricity and Energy.

Individual electricity consumption rate in Myanmar was 263 kWh in 2015-16 FY, 301 kWh in 2016-17 FY, 335 kWh in 2017-18 FY, 379 kWh in 2018-19 FY and 432 kWh in 2019-20 FY, according to the ministry.

The ministry was produced over 15 billion units of electricity in 2015-16 FY and it is now producing over 27 billion units of electricity. The electricity production rate is increased to over 11 billion units within five year time, according to the ministry.

The ministry was produced over 15 billion units of electricity in 2015-16 FY, over 17 billion units of electricity in 2016-17 FY, over 20 billion units of electricity in 2017-18 FY, over 22 billion units of electricity in 2018-19 FY and over 27 billion units of electricity in 2019-20 FY.

Myanmar is generated over 11 billion kWh of electricity from hydropower project and about 9 billion kWh of electricity from gas fire turbines from 2016-17 FY to 2018-19 FY, announced Central Statistics Organization by quoting the announcement of the ministry.

It is generated over 11.441 billion kWh of electricity from hydropower projects and over 7.577 billion kWh of electricity from gas fire turbines in 2016-17 FY, over 11.553 billion kWh of electricity from hydropower projects and over 7.69 billion kWh of electricity from gas fire turbines in 2017-18 FY and over 11.224 billion kWh of electricity from hydropower projects and over 9.2 billion kWh of electricity from gas fire turbines in 2018-19 FY, according to the ministry.

The ministry is planned to develop a 120-megawatt power plant project worth Ks13.282 billion in Ahlone, a 20-megawatt power plant project worth Ks2.148 billion in Kyunchaung, a 350-megawatt power plant project worth Ks233.654 billion in Thanlyin, a 400-megawatt power plant project worth Ks267.034 billion in Thaketa, a 150-megawatt power plant project worth Ks100.138 billion in Kyaukphyu, a 66-megawatt power plant project worth Ks64.23 billion in Magway, a 28-megawatt power plant project worth Ks0.997 billion in Shwetaung and a 300-megawatt power plant project in Seikkyi Kanaungto worth Ks14.173 billion in 2019-20 FY, said Dr Tun Naing, Deputy Minister for Electricity and Energy.
