Suspects of a tripartite murder case that happened in Yangon last month are still at large and police could not have arrested them, said an officer from Hlegu Township Police Station.
“Currently, we are hunting for them. We are close to their arrests,” the police officer said.
North District Police Force released information on February 1 that three men were killed in Shwekyakan Village, Hlegu Township.
However, the suspects could not have been arrested for 10 days.
At 4.30 am on February 1, the man (whose name is unidentified due to the sensitivity of the subject) returned home and found his twin sons and son-in-law dead with knife wounds. Then, he informed authorities concerned about the case.
According to sources from the neighbourhood, the murder was likely to happen at around 12 pm on January 31. The scene of the crime is said to be usually quiet. The father of the dead twins runs a shop selling Myanmar food at the edge of the street. The murder might have resulted from grudge.
The police station concerned has opened a case under Section 302.
