SAGAING------As the police station in Indaw Township launched mortar shells at a field near Nanmahoke Gyi village, Indaw Township, Sagaing Region, around 1 pm of December 3rd, mother and three children were injured but one of the children died on the way, according to the sources.

“The victims are very poor family. So, they built a hut beside the field where they cultivated seasonal crops. Four shells hit near the field. When the children heard the voice of heavy weapons, they run hut and hid near the cow-farm. However, heavy weapons exploded near the cow-farm. Due to the blast, mother and three children were injured. But, 14-aged boy out of three children died on the way to the hospital. We already returned back home after burying the body. The injured people were transferred to the Katha Hospital. The victims have trouble getting money,” said a relative of the victims.

Likewise, shell explosion occurred in other place on December 3rd killing a cow and dog.

In recent days, intensified fighting between Tatmadaw[military] and PDF occurred in Indaw Township. So, the local farmers have many difficulties because the fighting was timed to coincide with the paddy harvesting period.
