The Myanmar government is coordinating with the military to present the federal system it has accepted in 2019, said Dr Min Zaw Oo, executive director of Myanmar Institute for Peace and Security.

He gave the information based on what he had learnt during a Saturday talk on "Peace with three northern ethnic armed groups" broadcast by FRA news agency on December 15.

"As far as I know, the government is saying it will present its federal system in detail in 2019. For that  the government is coordinating with the military. I think it is a good prospect," said Dr Min Zaw Oo.

He added that if the ethnic armed groups realize the political will of the government and the military when the federal plan is laid out, tripartite peace talks will become speedier.

During the Saturday talk, political analyst Than Soe Naing and Dr Min Zaw Oo discussed over a joint statement issued by Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army, Ta'aung Natoinal Liberation Army and Arakan Army regarding Myanmar's peace process on December 12.
