The government and the ethnic armed organisations (EAOs) gave the green light to the attempt on the participation of the NCA non-signatories in the peace process, said Phado Saw Kywe Htoo Win, Vice-Chairman of Karen National Union.

“We discussed to make attempts on the participation of the NCA non-signatories in the peace process. The meeting focused on the situation of each ethnic organisation and the situation of the groups. Our both sides are responsible for non-signatories to participate in the signing process. We agreed on this point,” said Phado Saw Kywe Htoo Win.

“The meeting highlighted all inclusiveness. The government and the EAO frankly discussed what to do next. Tatmadaw and the peace commission are to discuss the EAO,” said Zaw Htay, spokesperson of the President Office.

The NCA signatories will meet non-signatories for enabling the latter to participate in the peace process early November. We have informed the government, too, said Phado Saw Kywe Htoo Win.

Our EAO would like all ethnic armed organizations to take part in the peace process. For this we aim at doing step by step. We will meet early November. We also informed the government of this plan, said Phado Saw Kywe Htoo Win.
