YANGON---Gang of four unidentified men reportedly robbed Global Treasure Bank (GTB) in Bayintnaung, Mayangon Township, Yangon Region, yesterday morning, said neighbourhood residents.

The local witnesses said that four gunmen robbed the bank after about 11am on August 30th and they took Ks 100 million from the bank. The police and soldiers arrived at the bank soon after the robbery and they carried out investigation.

The GTB already has been closed.

Likewise, the GTB located on Byamaso Road near Nandawin Market in South Oakkalapa Township, Yangon Region, was robbed on July 15th.

GTB was one of the banks under the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries and it was established about 25 years ago. Later, it was renamed as Global Treasure Bank. Currently, there are totaling 172 branches across the nation.
