The Global Fund, which provides funding for three major diseases, will provide support to Myanmar until 2023, according to an official from the Ministry of Health.

Even after February 2021, the Global Fund's support has not stopped. Its support has been successful in the fight against HIV, AIDS, TB and malaria. There has been a significant drop in deaths, especially in the fight against malaria. According to the discussions between the Ministry of Health and the Global Fund, the group's current support will continue until 2023. Myanmar will continue to cooperate with the Global Fund after 2023, said the official.

The Global Fund has been operating in Myanmar since 2005 and has been supporting the project to fight TB.

In 2011, it provided assistance in the fight against HIV, AIDS and malaria. A total of US$ 555.3 million was provided from 2011 to 2020 and US$ 261.6 million is being provided for 2021 and 2023.

The Global Fund, led by the Ministry of Health, is distributing about US$ 1.43 million worth of drugs and medical supplies to Myanmar for the prevention and control of COVID-19 disease, according to the Ministry of Health.

HIV, AIDS, TB and malaria prevention activities are being carried out in collaboration with foreign non-governmental organizations in rural areas using fund provided by the Global Fund, which is led by the Ministry of Health and under the close supervision of the Region and State governments and the Region/State Department of Public Health.
