The General Administration Department under the Ministry of Union Government Office has been moved to the Ministry Home Affairs, according to the order released by the State Administration Council (SAC) on May 5.

The order said the SAC had moved the department to serve under the Ministry of Home Affairs as per section 419 of the constitution.  

The General Administration Department (GAD) was first under the control of the Ministry Home Affairs. But, the National League for Democracy government moved it to the Ministry of Union Government Office as agreed by the government’s meeting on December 28, 2018. Then, U Min Thu was appointed as Union Minister of Government Office.
