Trucks carrying watermelon and muskmelon are coming to the fruit market at Muse 105th Mile Border Trade Zone in Shan State (North), but the market is dull due to communication cutoffs caused by spread of coronavirus in China.

Few Chinese merchants come to the mark after communications have been cut off in the wake of the virus.

"Every city in China is linked a haunted place. People no longer come out of their homes. Chinese authorities do not allow them to go to public places. All trade activities have halted as there is no one about. Shops remain open at Muse border trade camp. The border gates remain open. But very few people come to buy," said Sai Myint Bo, chairman of Muse 105th Mile Fruit Wholesale Center.

On January 27 over a hundred trucks loaded with watermelon and muskmelon arrived at the trade zone. But, 97 trucks had to wait for the following day for sale.

Merchants from China's mainland could not come and only those from nearby provinces could come to buy fruits, said a local merchant.

On January 28, 339 trucks arrived at the zone and fruits from 241 trucks were sold.
