SHAN STATE------Over 500 locals staged a protest against Shan State Progressive Party/Shan State Army (SSPP/SSA) in Namt Kham Township, Muse District, Northern Shan State yesterday noon but four bombs exploded killing two motorcyclists and injuring five.
The SSPP/SSA had allegedly taken away a man from Namt Swan village, Namt Kham Township. He died later and thus prompting the protest aimed at getting the body back.
“Since yesterday noon, Shan locals have gathered at the pagoda for a protest against the SSPP/SSA. The Shan locals wanted SSPP/SSA to leave the Htone Maung-Shwe Li valley. Moreover, the locals said that the SSPP/SSA had violated the laws. So, they protested against the SSPP/SSA. However, four bombs exploded near a market which was situated in the Namt Kham’s downtown. The last bomb exploded in the hand of the motorcyclists but the two motorcyclists died during the last bomb explosion. And then, five people were injured,” said one of the locals from Namt Kham Township.
