The formation of the Ministry of Immigration and Human Resources is not intended for the 2020 election and aims to take basic population census in all regions and states, said Moe Moe Su Kyi, the newly-appointed Yangon Region Minister for Immigration and Human Resources.

Moe Moe Su Kyi took the oath at the session of the Yangon Region Parliament on July 3.

The region minister said she would start learning as from today. Efforts should be made for human resource development which is crucial for the future of the country and all youths.

“The ministry needs to draft a plan for granting citizenship status to those who are entitled to become a citizen swiftly, in accord with the provisions of the immigration law. We will welcome cooperation and assistance of relevant departments. We will start implementing the projects after a review of future tasks,” she added.

The newly-formed ministry has no big challenges. It can overcome challenges through cooperation as it has a lot of experiences about voters lists, she continued.
