In 2018-2019 FY, export earnings from the forest products hit over 170 million US dollars, down over 20 million US dollars compared with the same period last year, according to the figures released by the Ministry of Commerce.

Myanmar fetched 174.790 million US dollars from exports of forest products. The export earnings declined by over 20.404 million US dollars, compared with 195.193 million US dollars in 2017-2018 FY.

The decline in export earnings of forest products is linked to a ban on exports of forest products for the conservation of natural resources in the country.

Myanmar mainly exports forest, animal, marine, agro, mining, CMP and other products.

At the end of 2018-19 FY,  the total border trade hit 10.216 billion US dollars, up 1.007 billion US dollars compared with the same period last year.
