A ship caught fire in the Yangon River near Bagayar pier in Kyimyindine Township, Yangon Region, reported the Myanmar Fire Services Department (MFSD).

The ship caught fire in the Yangon River near the Bargara pier, Kyimyindine Township, Yangon Region at around 2:23 am on March 1.

Residents of some townships in Yangon heard the explosion caused by the ship's fire, according to some comments of Yangon residents posted on the MFSD’s social network page.

A fire truck each from Kyimyindine Township, Ahlon Township, Kamayut Township and Sangyoung Township fire stations extinguished the fire, according to the MFSD.

The fire was brought under control at 3:07 am and extinguished at 3:35 am.
