Explosion occurs at Insein EPC office

YANGON-----Explosion occurred at the office of Electric Power Corporation (EPC) in Insein Township, Yangon, in the evening of July 12th, according to the neighbouring residents.

“The blast made a loud noise and it made the ground shaken. There is no injury. The security force came to the incident after the explosion,” said the witness.

The neighbouring residents also said that the police members carried out the security measures at the office till yesterday noon.

Likewise, another bomb blasts occurred at the EPC office in Tharkayta on June 27th.

Later, explosions occurred at the EPC offices in Sanchaung, Lanmadaw and Mingaladon Townships in early morning of July 9th.

An explosion occurred at Shwe Nandaw gold and jewellery shop located at the corner of Lanmadaw Street and Mahabandoola Road in Lanmadaw Township around 2 pm on July 8 injuring one of its staffs, sources said.

On the same day, bomb blast occurred at the traffic police post near Secretariat Office in Botadaung Township.

Similarly, offices of Electric Power Corporation in Thingangyun, Tamwe, Hlaing and South Oakkalapa townships in Yangon Region were damaged by blasts on July 7.

Series of explosions occurred in Yangon Region since at the end of April.
