Ethnic Cultural Festival to be held in Myanmar

The Myanmar Ethnics Culture and Tourism Promotion Festival will be held in Kyaikkasan Grounds from January 25 to 29 with the aim to promoting traditional culture and customs and tourism of each region.

A press brief concerning the holding of Ethnic Cultural Festival was held at the hall of Yangon Region Government. Myanmar Ethnics Entrepreneurs Association(MEEA) will be holding the Myanmar Ethnics Culture Festival.

"This is the very first festival of ethnics brethren. Unity of national races, perpetuation of sovereignty are stated in the national constitution. But, these policies are remembered when the Union Day and Independence Day are near and later forget these facts. It goes like this for many years. Unity of national races is very important," said Minister Zaw Aye Maung, Rakhine Ethnic Affairs.

At the festival, famous singers will entertain with songs and each ethnic dances. There will be Miss ethnic Myanmar 2019 competition, showcasing cultural traditions and livelihood of ethnic nationals, selling products produced by ethnic national business people, night market where food for all religions and ethnicities are will be available and photo booths will be set up there. Miss ethnic Myanmar 2019 will be chosen to promote traditional cultures of ethnic nationals and for business, The Winner will represent MEEA as an ambassador to promote friendship and peace among ethnic nationals. The first prize will be awarded Ks.15 million and a gold crown, first runner up with Ks.7 million and the second runner up with Ks.3 million. Ten additional titles will also be awarded.
