Out of 5,540 candidates who took the EPS TOPIK Manufacturing Skills Test, 5,377 passed and 163 failed, according to the Public Overseas Employment Agency (POEA).

The EPS TOPIK Manufacturing Skills Test for those who want to work in South Korea was conducted from June 3 to October 15 (including additional candidates), and out of 48,000 candidates, 5,540 passed the written test.

The 5,540 candidates who passed the written test took the Basic Skills Test at the Yangon University of Education in Kamaryut Township from November 24 to 26.

The final list of candidates who took the Basic Skills Test was released and out of 5,540 candidates, 5,377 passed and 163 failed.

When the written exam results of the first batch of EPS TOPIK Manufacturing Skills Test were released, only 5,540 out of 48,000 candidates passed, scoring a record 97.5 out of 100, which caused incredible surprise and criticism among the candidates.

When the written exam results were released, “This year’s cut-off score was very tough. There are 40 questions and 40 marks, which is multiplied by 2.5 points. I have to say that the mark is 97.5 out of 100 points. There are so many candidates, so there must have been candidates who are skillful in written test,” said a candidate from the manufacturing industry.

Some candidates had to travel from their hometowns to take the exam, paying for tuition, accommodation, and food, which cost them a lot of money. A candidate living in Botahtaung Township said that many candidates failed the written test by 1 point.

About 100,000 people have applied to take the EPS TOPIK written test for the manufacturing industry to work in South Korea. So far, 48,000 have taken the first batch, and the remaining candidates will have to take the second batch in early 2025.
