PAKOKKU-Eleven Media Group together with the well-wishers donated drinking water to Letkhotpin village, Myaing Township, Magway Region, yesterday.

The Letkhotpin village is facing water shortage problems as the lakes have dried up and the engine failure of some artesian-wells.

“In our village, the lakes dry up in early summer because we didn’t get enough rain. So, we run the water pump from the artesian wells. However, the well was unable to run in early March due to engine failure. There is an only artesian well in our village. Currently, well wishers donate water to us. We can’t dig new artesian wells because the village is poor,” said Htay Maung, Letkhotpin village administrator.

The EMG,together with well-wishers, donated 6,000 gallons of water to the village.

Eleven Media Group started a water donation program in the beginning of 2016 by using the bowsers provided by the Brighter Future Myanmar Foundation. The EMG donates over 100,000 gallons of water yearly to the Pakokku, Nyaung-U, Pauk and Myaing Townships in central Myanmar. Moreover, EMG dug over 20 artesian wells in Magway Township in 2016 and 2017.
