EMG makes its fifth Kahtein donation this year and the third Kahtein donation at Yangon Buddhist University

The Eleven Media Group (EMG) made its fifth Kahtein donation this year at the Yangon Buddhist University in Kyimyindine Township, Yangon Region, on November 18.

On November 18 (on the full moon day of Tazaungmone), the employees of various departments of the EMG donated tree-shaped stand, where various articles of offerings are hung, as Kahtein donation and the EMG donated K3 million for the Rector Sayadaw and lecturers at the Yangon Buddhist University.

The Rector Sayadaw and lecturers of Yangon Buddhist University attended the Kahtein donation and recited the sermon. The EMG also donated Kahtein donation items to the 40 monks including Yangon Buddhist University’s Rector Sayadaw and lecturers.

Yangon University Rector Sayadaw U Wimala delivered the Kahtein Anomadana Dharma on the Kahtein donation.

On November 12, the EMG held Kahtein donation to a monk who is staying at the Thirimingalar Sanda Yone Monastery, which is a storm-sheltered building, in Kyatawya Ward, Bahan Township, Yangon Region.

On November 7, the EMG organized the 13th Kahtein Donation Ceremony at the Thadhamma Yanthi Monastery in Thakyarhin-O Village, Dedaye Township, Ayeyawady Region.

The Kahtein donation was attended by 38 monks from Thakyarhin-O Village and nearby villages, and the monks recited sermons.

Thirty-eight monks accepted items donated by the EMG and villagers.

The EMG and its friends of doctors donated money to build the Thadhamma Yanthi Monastery for the victims of Cyclone Nargis occurred in May 2008.

On October 31, the EMG’s seventh Kahtein robe donation ceremony was held at the monastery in Pwint Tauk Village, Sidoktaya Township, Magway Region.

In Pwint Tauk village, which was evacuated by heavy rains and flooding in 2015, a K100 million worth reinforced concrete monastery was built to provide shelter for monks and villagers in the event of another natural disaster.

The annual Waso robe donation and Kahtein robe donation ceremony was held at the monastery, and this year is the seventh Kahtein robe donation.

Moreover the EMG donated a bronze statue of Buddha and twenty-eight pagodas, including a throne, and a Buddhist ordination hall.

The EMG aims to provide four items such as alms for the monks and every year, during the period of Buddhist lent, they contact the available monasteries, where Buddhist Scriptures are taught to monks, and donate Waso robes and lunch in addition to the Kahtein donation. During the last Thingyan, donations such as alms were made.
