MONYWA----Police seized narcotic drugs from Min Nyi, who is a Chairman of Municipal Affairs Committee, in Kawlin Township, Sagaing Region on November 22nd.

“We are going to remove him [Min Nyi] from his post. We don’t know how much exact amount was seized. The police will be announcing the details about the bust. We are going to take action against him if he is found to have broken the law,” said Thit Htoo Myint, Director of Sagaing Region Municipal Committee.

MP Myo Zaw Aung from Kawlin Township, Sagaing Region, wrote on his social media page that the Chairman of Municipal Committee from Kawlin Township was arrested due to possession of drugs and that it was a tip-off from the President’s Office itself. 

The drugs were allegedly for his own use.

Min Nyi has a lawsuit filed against him under the narcotics law at the Kawlin Police Station.
