Dr. Aung Moe Nyo, Magway Region Chief Minister, was assigned as the secretariat member-3 of the ruling party of National League for Democracy, the NLD announced on October 29.

The release said Dr. Aung Moe Nyo, Magway Region Chief Minister, was assigned as the secretariat member-3 of the ruling party of National League for Democracy according to the decision of the meeting of the CEC member.

“The assignment to the Magway Chief Minister seems to build up the party as elections get near,” said Monywa Aung Shin, secretary of Central Information Committee, who is also CEC member.

The secretariat board was formed with Win Htein, Win Myint, Dr. Zaw Myint Maung, Nyan Win and Han Tha Myint on February 16 in 2016 to be able to perform the functions of the NLD party in an effective manner.  Since then, the secretariat board is the second highest after Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, the Chairperson of the NLD.

When the second nationwide conference of the NLD was held on June 23 and 24 in 2018, Win Myint and Dr. Zaw Myint Maung became Vice-Chairman-1 and Vice-Chairman-2. Dr. Aung Moe Nyo, Magway Region Chief Minister, was assigned as the secretariat member-3 of the ruling party of National League for Democracy because Win Htein became a patron and NLD CEC member.

The secretariat board is in the third highest place after chairmen and vice-chairmen at the NLD party, said Monywa Aung Shin.

“The secretariat board is responsible for all matters of the party. It is at the third highest position after chairmen and vice-chairmen,” said Monywa Aung Shin. Dr. Aung Moe Nyo is a part of the NLD since its initial establishment. He was a CEC member after the first nationwide conference of the NLD held in 2013.
