A tripartite meeting was held for the disputed  Great Well shoe factory on November 13 evening.

Yangon chief minister Phyo Min Thein and government officials, workers and owners of the factory held a discussion concerning the disputes.

About 76 workers from the factory went to the Yangon Region Government Office on November 13th morning to be able to meet Yangon region Chief Minister.

Yangon Mayor Maung Maung Soe summoned the leader of the protest workers and said that their problems will be solved.

Great Well shoe factory was unable to give salaries to 76 workers and so they were transferred to other departments without benefitting original salary or rank. They are appointed as basic staff and so disputes have emerged.

After that dispute, the owner didn’t allow these 76 workers in the factory anymore and so they started their protest since October 1.
