The Customs Department has announced that it will continue processing import and export goods through international ports and airports during the Thingyan holiday.

To facilitate customs operations, services will be available on April 11, 13, 14, and 15 for shipments passing through international ports and airports.

The department also stated that urgent imports required for national needs will be handled upon prior application. Companies seeking overtime processing must deposit sufficient tax in advance and submit requests to the Customs Department no later than 2 pm on April 10.

At Asia World Port, export container inspections will be conducted in three shifts during the holiday period—except on Myanmar New Year Day—if overtime applications are submitted.

Additionally, border trade posts and township customs offices along trade routes will remain open and operate without holidays throughout the Thingyan period.
