Seven townships in Mandalay District, Mandalay Region, have seen daily Covid-19 case counts decrease, according to the ministry of health.

The number of Covid-19 cases reported daily in those townships was above 50 in July and August. It has then decreased since August 9 and only 19 cases were reported in Mandalay District on August 13.

According to the daily reports of cases in the respective townships, the district saw 64 Covid-19 cases and 17 deaths on August 9, 43 cases and eight deaths on August 10, 38 cases and 13 deaths on August 11, 22 cases and 11 deaths on August 12, and 19 cases and 16 deaths on August 13.

Despite decreasing cases in the district, Mandalay Region topped the list of Covid-19 cases in Myanmar on August 9, 10 and 12. More than 40 deaths were also reported on these days.
