Till September 13 of this fiscal year, the total export earnings hit over 15.976 billion US dollars, up 595.948 million US dollars, compared with the same period last year, according to the figures from the Ministry of Commerce.

An increase in export earnings is linked to the fact that the CMP industries can boost their exports.

Currently, the export earnings from the CMP sector reached over 9.488 billion US dollars, up over 1.737 billion US dollars or 18.30 per cent.

In Myanmar, the garment industries are mainly running on the CMP system. Slipper, bag and other industries also operate on the CMP system.

In 2018, the CMP garment sector earned nearly 4.6 billion US dollars. By 2024, the garment sector’s export earnings is expected to hit 10 billion US dollars, said Khaing Khaing Nwe, Secretary of Myanmar Garment Entrepreneurs Association, at the 5th annual meeting of the association held at the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, on May 11.
