Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to visit Myanmar

It has been learned that Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Foreign Affairs, will visit Myanmar.

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Foreign Affairs, will visit Myanmar and Thailand from August 14 to 17.

According to news sources, Wang Yi will arrive in Myanmar on August 14 and depart on August 15.

Wang Yi will also visit Thailand to co-chair the Ninth Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Foreign Ministers' Meeting and to attend informal discussions with the Foreign Ministers of China, Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand.

The statement further mentions that the purpose of Wang Yi's visit to Myanmar is to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, strengthen the close friendship between the people of the two countries, and to promote the development of a shared future for the China-Myanmar community.

A spokesperson from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that this visit by Foreign Minister Wang Yi aims to enhance the depth of cooperation between China and Myanmar in various sectors, strengthen the friendly ties between the people of both nations, and support the peaceful development of the China-Myanmar community. As a friendly neighboring country, China adheres to the principle of non-interference in internal affairs, consistently supports Myanmar in maintaining peace and stability, promoting economic development, and ensuring public welfare. China will always provide positive assistance in resolving differences through political dialogue within the constitutional and legal framework of Myanmar.
