China and Myanmar sign three solar power plant project agreements

The signing ceremony between Power China Resources Ltd and Ministry of Electric Power for the electricity purchase agreement for the Kyeeonkyeewa, Kindar and Satoketayar solar power plant projects was held in Nay Pyi Taw on November 7.

The Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar, Mr. Chen Hai, Union Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun and General Manager of the project company Mr. Jiang Xingcheng attended.

In their speeches at the ceremony, Ambassador Mr. Chen Hai and Union Minister U Nyan Tun praised the progress of the respective solar energy cooperation projects and expressed the intention to continue to develop China-Myanmar electricity cooperation, provide services for the development of both countries, and bring more interests to the people of Myanmar.

Ambassador Mr. Chen Hai also met with Union Minister U Nyan Tun to implement the agreement results of the third "Belt and Road" International Cooperation Summit Forum, China-Myanmar electricity interconnection development, helping solve Myanmar's "electricity needs and providing guarantees for the construction of the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor.

The three solar power plant projects are located in Magway and Mandalay regions, with a total capacity of 90 megawatts and will guarantee the development of the region.
