The Central Bank of Myanmar has announced it will sell US$30 million in the foreign exchange market for industrial fuel businesses. This brings the total amount of US dollars sold in June so far to $125 million.
According to official reports, the Central Bank has conducted multiple foreign currency sales this month: $30 million on June 6, $32 million on June 10, $33 million on June 17: and $30 million on June 23.
Through its FX Trading platform, the Central Bank has sold over $1.5 million (1,524,000 USD) from foreign currencies purchased from CMP companies to businesses importing edible oil.
Of the $10 million announced for sale in FX Trading, more than $577,044.25 has been sold to companies importing other goods.
The Central Bank has now announced it will sell an additional $33 million for industrial fuel businesses in the foreign exchange market.
On June 18, the bank sold over $1.68 million (1,681,587.50 USD) from its CMP-acquired foreign currency reserves to edible oil importers. That same day, it sold more than $1 million (1,004,353.87 USD) of the announced $10 million to companies importing other commodities.
Earlier, on June 16, the Central Bank had sold over $1.3 million (1,373,527.03 USD) to edible oil importers from its CMP-acquired reserves, along with more than $1.05 million (1,057,043.30 USD) to other commodity importers from the announced $10 million pool.
