Coordination is underway to hold a meeting on signing with a ceasefire agreement with the Northern Alliance in the first or second week of November as the fourth anniversary of Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA), said La Mai Gun Jar from the Kachin-based Peace-talk Creation Group (PCG).

A meeting took place between a government delegation and the Northern Alliance formed with Kachin Independence Army, Ta'ang National Liberation Army, Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army and Arakan Army on September 17 in Kengtung, eastern Shan State. They agreed to meet again in October.

"We coordinated to meet again this month after Thadingyut festival. However, we are not free after the festival. NRPC (National Reconciliation and Peace Center) have a meeting with 10 groups on October 27 and 28. This is why we will hold it in the first or second week of November.  We have not confirmed it. And this is a likelihood," said La Mai Gun Jar.

October 15 is the fourth anniversary of Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA). However, the time coincided with the Thadingyut festival and the event was postponed.
