Two people were killed and six injured in a car accident at 217-Milepost on the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway yesterday morning, says Myanmar Fire Services Department.

Due to the over speeding, a Hijet overturned onto the traffic island between the mileposts 217 and 218 on Yangon-Mandalay Expressway in Ottaya Thiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw. So, a fire engine from Pantin Expressway Fire Services Department and rescue members rushed to the scene and they carried out rescue activities.

There were eight people including a driver in the car. Among them, two people including the driver died on the spot,  six others were injured.

The injured people were sent to the 1,000-bed hospital in Nay Pyi Taw by the Expressway Police Force.
