Border trade value hits over 9.3 billion USD

In 11 months of this fiscal year, the total border trade value hit over 9.3 billion US dollars, up over 1.230 billion US dollars compared with the same period last year, according to the figures from the Commerce Ministry. 

Till August 30 of 2018-2019 FY, the total border trade reached 9.379 billion US dollars. Last year, the border trade value hit 8.148 billion US dollars.

The border trade value at the Muse border trade camp at China-Myanmar border amounted to over 4.5 billion US dollars, down over one billion US dollars compared with the same period last year. 

The border trade value at Nabule/Htikhee border trade camp on Thai-Myanmar border hit 2.318 billion US dollars, up over 2.1 billion US dollars compared with the same period last year. 

Dr. Than Myint, Union Minister for Commerce said: “The country needs to promote the quality of export products as well as to import more goods which will help support the long-term economic development.”
