Border guard police force and AA encounter in Mayu River

Skirmish occurred between border guard police force and Arakan Army (AA) occurred in Mayu River in Yathedaung Township, Rakhine State on March 10 and a police corporal was hit by a bullet, according to Ministry of Information.

A total of 14 policemen from Oatpho police outpost are moving along the river on a powered schooner on the night of March 10 and encountered a big powered schooner carrying AA members. The AA attacked the policemen using small weapons and big guns. The big powered schooner crashed into the schooner carrying policemen and made it sunk.

A policeman had injured and drifted away. Three guns are lost in the sunken schooner.

The AA left the place and headed to Khwasone.

The AA also attacked Yotayote police outpost on the night of March 9. Nine policemen were killed in action as the AA outnumbered the police. Two were injured and one was missing.

The AA attacked four police outposts in Buthidaung Township at the same time on January 4 killing 13 policemen and injuring nine.

The AA also attacked Thantaung police station in Paletwa Township, Chin State on February 22 and detained the head of police station and village administrator. Later they were released.

The clashes between army and AA still occurred in Buthidaung, Yathedaung and Ponnakyun townships in Rakhine State and Paletwa Township in Chin State.
