Yunnan-Yangon direct airline flight is being planned, according to the Yangon City Development Committee (YCDC).

It is reported that the discussion was held during a meeting with Yunnan Province Governor Mr. Wang Yu Bo and Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein.

Mr. Wang Yu Bo, Governor of Yunnan Province, said that Myanmar and China are kinship countries and have lived as a community through thick and thin. He stressed that the promotion of bilateral trade between China's Yunnan Province and Myanmar's Yangon, including the issue of Yunnan-Yangon direct airline flights, and the promotion of friendship between the people of the two countries and cooperation in business matters in the future.

The Chief Minister of Yangon Region said that Yangon has established as sister City with Yangzhou in 1997, Kunming in 2008, Nanning in 2009, at present, it’s implementing to sign MoU as the Friendship cities with Chongqing and Fuzhou, it will facilitate the bilateral relation between the two countries. There are 622 investors from China in Myanmar, and 423 in Yangon Region, which is the most in the industrial sector.
