Aryu International Hospital, the first international standard hospital in Myanmar, is officially open on March 17.

The opening ceremony was attended by Yangon Region Chief Minister Phyo Min Thein, MPs, health officials and guests.

Yangon Chief delivered an opening speech.

“Many people go to Thailand to receive medical treatment. It will be a good opportunity for us if we don’t have to go Thailand to have medical treatment of their quality. We can also create more  opportunities if we can open more international standard hospitals in Myanmar,” said Phyo Min Thein.

The hospital is jointly owned by Gamonepwint Company Limited from Myanmar and Thonburi Healthcare Group from Thailand.

The objectives of the hospital are to become a leading international standard hospital in Myanmar and to fulfill the requirements of local people through medical assistants from specialists, said Dr Watson Aphiwatanakoon, CEO of the hospital.

The 200-bed hospital cost US$100 million.
