According to the statement of U Phyo Zeyar Thaw, who arrested on November 18, 21 places rented for accommodating terrorist groups were identified and searched, leading to seizures of 93 small arms, 128 homemade pistols, 206 various magazines, 13,942 assorted rounds of ammunition, 163 bars of TNT gunpowder, nine bars of C4 gunpowder, 800 detonators, one binocular, 12 satellite phones and other related explosives, according to a statement released by the information team of the State Administration Council.

When security forces searched Room No.B-0907, Building No.3-B of Yadanar Hninsi Condominium in Seikkan Township where U Phyo Zeyar Thaw were arrested, they found and confiscated one Lenovo laptop, one MacBook, one hard disk, one satellite phone, two mobile phones, ATM cards of CB Bank and AYA Bank, one passport, lists of target places to be attacked in Yangon and women’s accessories, the statement said.

According to his statement, the woman stuff belongs to Thazin Nyunt Aung (in hiding), who helped in writing party victory songs and short films for the National League for Democracy party. She had been living with him and the condo was rented with Ko Nyan (in hiding) and Ku Ku (in hiding) to live with her.

According to the initial statement of U Phyo Zeyar Thaw, pistols and homemade pistols were issued based on mission presented by the assassination team, and it was intended to kill ward/village administrators, civil service personnel, members of opposition political parties including the Union Solidarity and Development Party in order to disrupt the administrative mechanism of the government. 

Rifles and powerful ammunition were to be used in the level-2 attacks on the government’s defence, political and administrative pillars starting from November 15 under the operation named Pyan Hlwar Aung. Their attacks intended to detonate bombs in public areas, administrative buildings and schools and kill security forces.

The landlords of the apartments / houses where terrorists rented and stayed will face action in accord with the existing law, and the acts of violence committed by Phyo Zeyar Thaw also known as Maung Kyaw will be further reported, the SAC information team said.

NLD party member and former MP U Phyo Zeyar Thaw was arrested at an apartment in Yadanar Hnin Si Housing located on Yadanar Road in Dagon Seikkan Township on November 18. The security forces found two Sigsauer pistols, 48 rounds of 9mm ammunition, an M-16 assault rifle and 74 rounds of 5.56 caliber ammunition inside the apartment, the information team had earlier reported.
