The military seized more narcotic drugs and related equipment in Kutkai Township, northern Shan State within 15 days, announced the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services on March 13.

The security forces searched 308 out of 333 houses in Lwekham Village and found weapons, ammunition, narcotic drugs and related equipment used to manufacture drugs in 31 houses, announced the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services on March 13.

The arm also announced the names of the owners of the houses.

Concerning the seizures of narcotic drugs, continued measures will be taken to arrest main culprits and those who involved in the cases in accordance with rules and regulations, and the security forces continue regional security measures and searches around the area, it said.

Security forces found 558,000 stimulant tablets bearing WY label, 318,000 stimulant tablets with a label of 88/1, 125 kilos of raw opium, 10 kilos of broken stimulant tablets, 650 kilos of caffeine powder, 9,920 kilos of caustic soda powder and 65 tablet pressing rods from the basement of a single-story brick building owned by Lauk Nyo, who is on the run from Lwekham Village, on March 13.

They also seized 4,896,000 stimulant tablets with a label of 88/1, 1,430,000 stimulant tablets bearing WY label, 6,545 soapboxes of heroin (65.45 kilos), one block of heroin (0.33 kilo), seven kilos of ICE, 360 kilos of caustic soda, one tablet making machine, one tablet mixer, two steel cones, one tray for drying tablets, one digital scale, one glass tube and 151 tablet pressing rods from the basement of a single-story brick building owned by Lauk Phu Chan, who has fled from Lwekham Village, on March 12.

The total seizures of drugs and related equipment in and around Kaungkha and Lwekham villages from February 28 to March 12 were 132,179,000 stimulant tablets, 258.7 kilos of heroin, 271 kilos of brown opium, 1.6 kilos of solid heroin, 16 kilos of opium oil extract, 12.65 kilos of broken stimulant tablets, 135 kilos of raw opium, 440.5 kilos of ICE (at a total estimated value of over Ks289 billion), 193 kinds of equipment used in refining drugs and related equipment (at a current value of over Ks1 billion) and drugs and related equipment valued at over Ks291 billion in total, according to the announcement.
