Security forces occupied an Arakan Army (AA) training camp near Chayyartaw Village in Sittwe, Rakhine State on August 2, according to an announcement released by the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services on August 5.

The security forces found six trenches, three tents, two AA uniforms, 33 pairs of mufti, 14 sheets of tarpaulin, spade, shovel, eight swords and a handset from the AA training camp located about 2,000 meters away from west of Chayyartaw Village.

They also found 500 guns made of wood, six detonators, three boxes containing bullets, 13 tents, 60 units of spades and chopping hoes, 40 shovels, 50 swords, a handset, rice and provisions, medicine bags and other equipment from a place secretly stored by the AA about 1,500 meters away from west of Chayyartaw Village on August 3.

The security forces are conducting operations for stability and security in the area, said the announcement.
