YANGON-Two apartment buildings accommodating about 90 apartment dwellers including Case-595 in Thuwana, Thingangyun Township, Yangon Region, are being restricted, according to the ward authorities.

The Ministry of Health and Sports announced the list of patients yesterday night.

The announcement reported that the 40-year old woman living in Thuwana, Thingangyun Township, Yangon Region, tested positive of COVID-19 virus but she had no overseas travel history and no close contact with confirmed cases. She became Case-595.

So, the authorities ordered a lockdown to a short street which linked between Pawsanhmwe 5th street and 6th Street in Thuwana yesterday night as a woman lived in a short street was found infected with COVID-19 virus.

“She[Case 595] went to the Sanpya Hospital in Thingangyun Township because she was sick. She had no foreign travel history and she didn’t know how she was infected with the virus,” said MP Nay Phon Latt from Thingangyun Constituency.

He also said that the list of close contact with Case 595 was being collected and then those who made close contact with her would be sent to the Quarantine Center.

The Case-595 works at the laundry task and she didn’t make domestic travel these days, according to the ward authority.

Currently, those who live in a short street are being made medical checkups and they are up on a lockdown.

Likewise, a woman from South Dagon Myothit Township, Yangon Region, tested positive of COVID-19 virus yesterday. She was an airline staff.

Myanmar has reported 628 COVID-19 cases including six deaths and 349 recoveries till this morning.

As the number of confirmed patients affected by COVID-19 virus is increasing, the Ministry of Health and Sports and the Committee for COVID-19 Prevention, Control and Cure have announced that in order to control the spread of the disease, it has necessitated for the entire Rakhine State to be under STAY AT HOME programme, and that those wishing to travel out of the State should get the necessary permission.
