All domestic flights suspended after military coup

YANGON------- All domestic flights have been suspended at the Yangon International Airport since the beginning of February 1st after the military seized power, according to the reports.

Moreover, all domestic airports were shut down temporarily.

“We don’t know about the closure of Airports. The airlines’ ferries turned back because the entrance road to the Yangon International Airport was closed. The passengers who were already on the board had to leave from the plane. All domestic fights were suspended since February 1st,” said a senior pilot from a domestic airline.

The NOTAMs announced that all domestic and international flights at the Yangon International Airport have been banned from February 1st to May 31st, according to Ministry of Transports and Telecommunications.

Myanmar had allowed regular flights of domestic airlines which already suspended their operations due to COVID-19 outbreak since the beginning of December 16th.
