A two-time Academy Award-winning actor, Thiha Tin Soe, died of heart disease on February 21, according to sources close to his family. 

He was 55 years old when he died.

He died on the way to hospital after he had suffered a heart attack this morning.

In his Facebook page, Actor Wai Lu Kyaw said he was deeply saddened by the death of Thiha Tin Soe and shared sorrows with the bereaved family.

 When videos were popular in Myanmar, Thiha Tin Soe made a lot of films fearing revolution against the colonialists capturing the hearts and minds of audience. 

He won the best director award and the best actor award in 2000.
