A passenger bus is on fire in Kawtkayeik Township

MYAWADDY-A bus carrying 24 passengers was on fire near Hlaingwa bridge on New Asia Road about one mile distant from western part of Kawtkayeik police station in Kaying state, yesterday morning.

The fire started due to the leak of diesel but no one was injured.

The firefighters together with the MP Soe Htay from Kawtkayeik Township, Police Lt-Col. Naing Naing Tun from Kawtkayeik District Police Force and his members and the deputy district administrator tried to extinguish the flames and they controlled the fire after burning 15 minutes long.

Although the vehicles and passengers’ belongings were lost, there was no injury.

The Pale Phyu Social Welfare Association from Kawtkayeik Township also helped the passengers and they sent them to the Kawtkayeik police station.

Plans were underway to take action against the driver in accordance with the law.
