MAWLAMYAING------Khaing Win, Chairperson of Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) in Phaya Thonzu, Kyarinseikgyi Township, Kayin State, was shot at a tea shop yesterday morning, according to locals.

Phaya Thonzu resident said that two unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on Khaing Win while he was at the tea shop situated on No.3 Ward in Phaya Thonzu Township. Moreover, two men accompanying him[Khaing Win] were wounded in the arm and legs and were also sent to the hospital.

Although the security forces arrived at the incident after the attack, two motorcyclists are at large, according to the locals.

Likewise, one of the members of Border Guard Force in Kayin State and the No.4 Ward Administrator were shot dead in Phaya Thonzu, Kyarinseikgyi Township, Kayin State on June 16th and May 19th.

Moreover, MP Wai Thi Phyo from Mon Unity Party in Kyarinseikgyi Township was shot dead by unknown gunmen on June 8th.
