80% of Covid-19 patients in Myanmar found unvaccinated: Health Ministry

Based on the lab tests conducted from January to September 7 this year in Myanmar, 80% of those infected with Covid-19 had not received any Covid vaccine, according to an announcement made by the Ministry of Health on September 12. 

Meanwhile, 15.9% of the patients have received one dose vaccine, 4% two doses and 0.1% one or more boosters.

The ministry also reported 204 Covid-19 new cases detected during a 24-hour period from 8pm September 11 to 8pm September 12 after testing a total of 11,306 lab samples. 

Till 8pm on September 12 since the start of the pandemic, 617,056 Covid-19 cases and 19,442 deaths were reported in the country.

The Ministry of Health has issued notices urging member of the public across Myanmar to exactly follow the Covid-19 prevention guidelines, wear face masks and receive vaccinations without fail by contacting nearby health departments and community administrator offices.
