5-year-old boy died after being left in a private school bus for hours in Hmawbi Township

A 5-year-old boy died after being left in a private school bus for hours in Hmawbi Township, Yangon Region on May 4 according to people close to the child’s parents.

The boy’s name was Blessing Ko Ko aka Nyaw Nyaw. His parents are from Taungoo 19-ward. They are currently living in Hmawbi Township. On the morning of May 4, he went to a private school situated in Myaing Tharyar- Awba junction in Hmawbi  by school bus. It was till 3:00 pm that he was not arrive from school. After telephoning the school, the parents found out that the child was died on the school bus.

“The child was attending a private school in Hmawbi Township. Unfortunately, the school bus wasn’t coming that day. So, a car owned by the school principal fetched him. There were three school children on the car on the day. At that time, the boy said he left his water bottle on the car and went back to take it. He was locked in that car since that time. When the school time was over, the parents called the school and learnt that their child was died on the car. His body was brought back to Taungoo in the evening of May 4. Their house is near Myogyi School. As Taungoo is their native place, they brought back their boy’s dead body to Taungoo,” said a friend of the deceased boy’s parents.

The funeral service will be held on May 6.
