Three officers including Myawady district administrator were killed in drone attacks on the Office of District Police Force in Myawady Town in Kayin State yesterday evening, according to local sources.
When the Chief of District Police Force, the District Administrator and the staff officer discussed the regional security affairs at the District Police Force’s office in Myawaddy Town, they were attacked with drop bombs using a drone. A bomb dropped onto the meeting hall of Office of District Police Force and another fell onto the store beside the house of the District Police officer and then it exploded.
There were two drop bomb attacks. In the second attack, U Soe Tint, Chairman of District Administration Council in Myawaddy Town, Tun Tun Nyein, staff officer from the general administrative department and upper divisional clerk U Pyae Phyo Aung died on the spot.
Moreover, the acting battalion commander from the army, seven police officers including the deputy police officer from Myawaddy District Police Force and three lance corporals and two policemen were wounded. Those wounded victims were sent to the Myawaddy District People’s Hospital.
Among wounded patients, deputy police clonal Aung Htet Win and Inspector Nay Lin Soe from Traffic Police Force died in hospital.
The Information Team of State Administration Council (SAC) reported that the office of Myawaddy District Police Force was attacked by drones. Due to the drone attacks, some buildings were destroyed and some members of security force and some governmental staffs were also wounded.
When the security force inspected at the incident, they were attacked by two more bombs using the drone. So, some members of security force and some departmental staffs were wounded, according to the SAC’s announcement.
Previosuly, there had been two bomb attacks near the Friendship Bridge in Myawaddy Town.
