22 awards presented at Motion Picture Academy Awards Ceremony for 2019, 2020 and 2022

Motion Picture Academy Awards for the years of 2019, 2020 and 2022 were presented at Open Air Theatre near Nay Pyi Taw Town Hall on May 6.

 Academy Award presentation ceremonies were held for 63 times from 1952 to 2018. Today's ceremony is the 64th.

Present at the 64th ceremony were Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife, SAC members, the union minister for information, departmental officials and officials from the movie, Thabin (dramatic) and music societies.

Vice-Senior General Soe Win delivered an opening speech, and Kyi Soe Tun, chairman of Myanmar Motion Picture Association, spoke words of thanks.

Ninety seven movies were released in 2019, 21 in 2020 and 20 in 2022.

At the ceremony, a total of 22 Academy Awards in different genres were presented.

The Best Actress Award (2019) went to Eaindra Kyaw Zin for the film ‘Hit Taing’, the Best Actress Award (2020) to Soe Pyae Thazin for the film ‘Golden Princess’, and the Best Actress Award (2022) to Shwe Hmon Yati for the film “I don’t want to be away from you’.

The Best Actor Award (2019) went to Myint Myat for the film ‘Tears Shed on Yoma’, the Best Actor Award (2020) to Sai Sai Kham Leng for the film ‘Music performed by Paduak’, and the Best Actor Award (2022) to Pyay Te Oo for the film “The Butterfly Trap’.

The Best Actor Awards were announced by Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn and presented by Vice-Senior General Soe Win.

Former Academy Award winners attending the ceremony were presented with a gold brooch featuring the Academy logo each.
