12th Mon Youth Day to be celebrated in Paung Township

The 12th Mon Youth Day will be marked at Htanpin Chaunggyi village in Paung Township, Mon State, on December 28.

The aim of the event is to strengthen unity among Mon youths, to raise the national spirit, to pay respect to the Mon leaders who have fought for the rights of the Mon people throughout the ages, to gather Mon youths together in the situation that is happening in the country at present, to give a message to the youths about the history and traditions of the Mon ethnic group, and mainly to achieve mutual love and friendship among the youths.

Moreover, the Mon Youth Day ceremony will be held with the objectives of friendly cooperation and collective leadership in national affairs.

“There will be columns of drum and bugle corps and entertainment programs. Mon Literature competition will be held at the ceremony. We will be holding the seminars for the Mon youths,” said one of the members of Observance Committee of Mon Youth Day ceremony.

The 11th Mon Youth Day was marked on the morning of December 28 last year at Wezin Camp, Dawei District, a controlled area of New Mon State Party (NMSP) in Ye Township, Mon State.
